What you get: Membership of Home Swap Club: your home listed in the members’ directory, search across every published home, private messaging with other members, and saved favourites. Nothing is downloaded and there is nothing to install. Any current web browser will do.

What it costs

The price: Nothing for the first year as a founding member, then CA$99 a year, plus any sales tax or VAT due where you live. There are no other charges of any kind: no booking fee, no commission on a swap, no nightly rate and no deposit.
Total you will pay: CA$99 a year plus local tax, starting a year from today. The exact total, including any tax, is shown on the payment page before you confirm.
Currency: Canadian dollars (CAD). If you are outside Canada, the payment page may offer to show and charge the price in your own currency instead. Either way, any conversion fee is your bank’s or the payment provider’s, and we do not see or receive it.
How you pay: By card, through Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe, through its Link service, is the seller of record for the payment and handles the sales tax or VAT, which is why the tax is worked out for your country rather than ours.
On your statement: LINK.COM* HOMESWAPCLUBNot Home Swap Club. That is Stripe’s payment service, which takes the payment on our behalf. Worth remembering next year, when the renewal appears under a name you don’t recognise. It is us.

How long it lasts, and how to get out

When it starts and ends: Your membership starts as soon as the payment goes through and runs for one year. It renews automatically each year unless you stop it, and we email you 14 days before every renewal so a charge is never a surprise.
Changing your mind: A full refund within 30 days, from your account page, without asking anyone. The first 14 days carry no conditions at all. See the terms for the two conditions that apply after that.
Cancelling: At any time, from your account page. Nothing further is charged and you keep everything you have paid for until the year is up.

The limits of what we do

What we are not: We introduce members to each other. We are not a party to any swap, we hold no money between members, we do not inspect homes, and we do not vet members beyond confirming an email address works. A swap is never guaranteed: every member is free to say no.
Your copy: We email you a copy of this agreement as soon as you join. Keep it.
