$600 a night, or a home swap
One of our first members had just spent around $600 a night on local accommodation when she discovered Home Swap Club through a handwritten community notice.
At that rate, a six-night stay works out at roughly $3,600. She worked out that a swap could have saved most of it. She would have stayed in another member’s home, and that member would have stayed in hers.

Questions people ask first
Do we have to swap at the same time?
No. Swapping at the same time is the simplest, because neither of you needs anywhere else to stay, and that's what most members look for. But plenty of swaps happen months apart, and you can arrange whatever suits you both.
What if nobody wants to come to where I live?
Your home appears in every search, and plenty of members are open to going anywhere. Swaps don't have to be in both directions at once either: you can host now and travel later, whatever you agree between you.
What does it cost?
One membership: CA$99 a year, and our first 500 members get their first year free. There are no booking fees, no nightly rates and no commission on swaps.
I rent my home. Can I join?
Yes, as long as you have the owner's permission to offer it. Check your lease, your building's rules and your insurance before you list.
Is it safe?
You message a member, ask whatever you need to, and only agree a swap you're comfortable with. Every member confirms they have home insurance before their home goes live. We don't run background checks or insure swaps ourselves, so read our safety guidance before you travel.
