Lisbon, Lisboa, Portugal
Roughly where: A fifteen-minute walk uphill from the river, near a metro stop
[DEMO DATA: fictional] A narrow three-storey townhouse on a residential street away from the tourist crowds. There's a roof terrace that gets sun from mid-morning until evening, two bedrooms upstairs and a small study. The house is old and has its quirks, the stairs are steep and the hot water takes a moment, but it's cool in summer and full of light.
[DEMO DATA: fictional] Our bakery on the corner opens at seven and the queue tells you everything. The tram stops two streets away. Cascais is forty minutes by train if you want a beach day.
Steep stairs to all bedrooms and no downstairs bathroom, so not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.
